Repairing, tinkering, teaching offers the opportunity for self-realization and thus self-empowerment. We combine volunteer work and paid work and develop a good interaction between both areas. We question boundaries and social conventions (e.g., the current consumption of resources and services, the ubiquitous use of cars).

We promote cycling in society and enable individuals to cycle. The bicycle is our preferred form of mobility.

Repairing instead of throwing away

Repair is better than recycling

It is more effective and cost-efficient to extend the life of our possessions than to exploit them for the extraction of raw materials.

Repair saves you money

Repairing things is usually easier and cheaper than replacing them. Repairing things yourself saves you money.

Repair teaches engineering

Taking something apart is the best way to find out how it works.

Repair saves the planet

Our resources are limited and becoming increasingly scarce. The most efficient way forward is to reuse what we already have.

You can find more information on this topic and download the Repair Manifesto in every conceivable language at iFixit

Inspiring ideas for exciting DIY projects

  • How do you actually weld bicycle bags at home on the kitchen table without fancy special tools?
  • A bicycle repair workshop at our school would be cool! Who offers something like that?
  • Cargo bikes and trailers are expensive. Can't I build something like that myself?
  • I want to make an unusual gift for my friend, but what and how?
  • What's that creaking noise? Who can show me the best way to check my bike?

We have answers to (almost) all your questions and can help you turn your ideas into reality...

Then, on several dates, you'll have the opportunity to practice riding under supervision, on safe terrain, of course.
